Number 1 in the country
Admira got back to their best
Admira won the Lower Austrian derby in the second division at SKN 3:0, making the Südstädter number one in the country again. St. Pölten, on the other hand, will have to console themselves with retaining their license, but are under observation.
Anyone strolling through the NV-Arena before kick-off of yesterday's derby saw nothing but happy, satisfied faces. Regardless of whether they were wearing an SKN scarf or an Admira jersey. Because both St. Pölten and Admira received approval for the next second division season from Senate 5 at noon - and would even be eligible to play in the top division if they weren't lagging so far behind in sporting terms. "Confirmation that we also work professionally off the pitch," said a delighted Admira's managing director Niklas Belihart.
His SKN counterpart Matthias Gebauer, on the other hand, is under scrutiny. The corrected budget, which has been reduced from six million to just under four million, must be adhered to, otherwise there will be consequences from the league. "We will of course adhere to the guidelines - and can still honor all of our contracts," says the Tyrolean.
Fuel for fire in the derby
Economically, everything is apparently blissful. Nevertheless, there was enough fuel for the fire in the derby, as it was about the number one team in Lower Austria. Which for the first time since round three is Admira again. The curiosity of the game was the 0:1 by Ramsebner, who leaned on Rasner and headed the ball into his own goal (44'), Mujanovic (67') and Ristanic (73') followed suit after the break.
The team from Südstädter virtually regained their own standards, which - as you always hear from all corners of the club - is the number one in the country. Coach Thomas Pratl takes a more relaxed view: "A nice snapshot. I'm particularly pleased that the lads were able to celebrate with our fans." Incidentally, the atmosphere was a home game for Admira - highly unusual, but true . . .
