Draw in the battle
Title fight in Burgenlandliga remains open after 2:2
Siegendorf squandered victory in the last minute of the Burgenlandliga top match. Parndorf still in with a (theoretical) chance of promotion after a 2-2 draw.
Early summer temperatures, around 1000 spectators in the Heidebodenstadion. Everything was set for the top match in the Burgenlandliga. In which the title fight was not yet decided.
Both teams gave each other nothing. Parndorf played compactly, but Siegendorf had the better chances. Grozurek with a header, Andrejevic put the ball against the bar - all within a minute (30'). But the home side scored. Umprecht set up Jani, who scored the goal (43'). After the break, however, the visitors turned their superiority into goals. Zeco scored twice (62', 68') to turn the game around. And the pendulum seemed to swing in ASV's favor for a long time.
Pinter shocked "Ex"
But then came Pinter. The veteran, who normally plays for Parndorf Juniors, turned out to be a "secret weapon". He was on hand with virtually the last action of the game after a poke. And the Siegendorf native took the early championship butter off the bread of his "ex" (he also played for the club for years).
"We fought hard to earn the point, but they were strong," said Parndorf's sporting director Paul Hafner after the 2:2 draw. They still have a (theoretical) chance of winning the league title. Siegendorf, on the other hand, are still unbeaten and have a three-point lead but one game less. So everything is in their own hands.
