Derby finally set two directions
If I were a politician," Christian Tschida smiled mischievously, "I'd say the direction is right." Admira's president was in high spirits as he soaked up the atmosphere in the VIP club of the NV-Arena after the 3-0 derby win.
In the case of the Südstädter, the right direction is not just an empty phrase, but a reality. 19 out of a possible 24 points in the second half of the second division are the top score together with Liefering. "At the moment, everything is a nice, well-rounded thing," nods coach Thomas Pratl with satisfaction. Obviously a maturing process. "We wanted to play like this in the fall." "Peter has three or four highly interesting players on the hook for the coming season," says Admira's managing director Niklas Belihart. Anything else would be surprising, as the name Stöger stands for quality - and for the desired direction mentioned by Tschida. . .
. . . which no longer fits at all in St. Pölten. Ten goals conceded in the last two rounds, the highest derby defeat in four years. Coach Philipp Semlic keeps talking about lessons to be learned for next season. But it is questionable whether he will be allowed to use them at all. Should sporting director Tino Wawra leave in the summer, then Semlic will also have been only a short chapter in the SKN story.
