Champions in crisis
Salzburg’s fans demand a reaction from the Bulls’ bosses
The crisis at champions FC Red Bull Salzburg has prompted vociferous criticism from their own supporters. The Bulls' fans are demanding a reaction to the misery from the top management around managing director Reiter and sports boss Seonbuchner. "Anstoß" - a column by "Krone" editor Sebastian Steinbichler.
The day after the disastrous 3:1 defeat at LASK, Salzburg reeled off a training session in Taxham. Only those players who were not in the starting eleven against Linz were on the pitch. A few fans dropped by to get autographs.
Supporters in the minority
Like two passionate Bulls supporters from Styria, who had traveled over three hours by car. The current performance is definitely not what they want, they say. Despite the crisis, however, they are sticking by coach Gerhard Struber. "He is a top coach." A separation from Kuchler is not appropriate.
With this opinion, the duo currently belong to a minority. At least that's how it seems if you look around the forums and social networks. Just a few weeks after his appointment, a harsh wind blew against Struber, which was often unjustified and unfair. However, after missing out on his goals for the season (wintering in the European Cup, winning the Cup) and a disappointing style of play, Struber's critics are now setting the tone.
Criticism cannot be ignored
They are demanding a clear reaction from the club and are calling sports director Bernhard Seonbuchner and managing director Stephan Reiter to account. The management will not have ignored the supporters' criticism either. After all, it is almost deafeningly loud.
