Chelsea: Fierce spat over penalty “a disgrace”

Pochettino: "I don't accept that"
Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino still had nothing to laugh about after the game. Palmer, Jackson and Madueke were arguing over who was allowed to take the penalty in the 64th minute. A highly unnecessary scene. In the end, Palmer converted with aplomb. "It's a shame. I've already told the players that it was the last time. I won't see anything like that again. I won't accept that. I apologize to the fans," said Pochettino.

Palmer reassured afterwards: "Others wanted to shoot too, but I'm the shooter. We show that everyone wants to take responsibility. That might be a bit exaggerated. But we laugh and joke about the scene."

Palmer moved from Manchester City to Chelsea for €47 million in the summer. In the league, they are still fighting for an international starting place. Sixth place is just three points away after a furious comeback in recent weeks - with one game less than rivals Newcastle.
