All-time high
ORF celebrates dream ratings for Fit without Philipp
The fact that "Fit mit Philipp" Philipp Jelinek chatted himself into oblivion is apparently a stroke of luck for ORF. Because suddenly there are dream ratings for the morning public service physical training program.
After the former ORF gymnast Philipp Jelinek, as reported, stumbled across chats with the then FPÖ leader Heinz-Christian and had to resign from his position at the public broadcaster, the fitness show was relaunched on Monday under the title "Fit mit den Stars".
Sensational 50 percent market share
And the launch was met with great interest: According to the broadcast at 9.10 a.m. on ORF 2, an average of 191,000 gym-goers tuned in as Conny Kreuter amiably guided them through the first program.
This corresponded to a market share of 50 percent, the best figure ever for the format. In a press release, the ORF celebrated that it was an "all-time high". The ratings over the next few days and weeks will show whether this will be maintained.
Because Conny Kreuter, who became famous as a "Dancing Stars" professional dancer and choreographer, is still doing gymnastics with the ORF 2 audience this week and it may also have been curiosity about the new format.
In the second week from April 22 to 26, "Fit mit den Stars" will be presented by former ski jumper and ORF expert Andreas Goldberger on weekdays at 9:10 a.m. on ORF 2.
Armin Assinger will also be slipping into his training pants and encouraging people to join in.
The main thing is exercise
No matter what happened before, the main thing for Kreuter is that people move. She also wrote this on Instagram: "The main thing is to move, right? I'm grateful for the opportunity to dance and move together with people of all ages and all levels. I understand that there's excitement, but in every situation there's also something good....in this case, maybe a new exercise or a new explanation that makes sense and/or is fun."
She wishes Philipp Jelinek "all the best for his new show on another channel."
