Crown Princess Amalia was hidden in Spain!

According to media reports, the Dutch Crown Princess Amalia has been living in Spain due to threats against her. 

As the radio station NOS reported on Wednesday, citing sources in the royal family, the 20-year-old studied in Madrid for more than a year. However, she now lives in Amsterdam again.

Amalia had initially studied politics, psychology, law and economics at the University of Amsterdam since 2022. For security reasons, however, she moved out of her student residence after just a few weeks and returned to the palace in The Hague.

Abduction feared
The royal family had already spoken of threats against the princess at the time. Queen Máxima explained at the time that Amalia could no longer live in Amsterdam or go out. "This has a huge impact on her life," her mother lamented.

No details were given at the time about the nature of the threats against Amalia. According to reports, there were fears that criminals could kidnap the princess.

Danger not yet averted
NOS has now reported that the danger to Amalia has not yet been completely averted. However, she will be able to live and study in the Netherlands again due to undisclosed "measures". A rare official appearance by the crown princess in the royal house was also announced for Wednesday evening: she is taking part in a two-day state visit by the Spanish royal family.
