"GNTM" guest judge
Winnie Harlow: From skin disease to top model
She is one of the most extraordinary supermodels of our time: Winnie Harlow (29). The GNTM guest judge has been an integral part of the modeling business since 2015. But she never thought she would be so successful when she was young ...
Winnie Harlow was born in Etobicoke, a suburb of Toronto in Canada, in 1994. The model described her former place of residence as a "ghetto", characterized by crime.
Her life became even more difficult when she was diagnosed with vitiligo at the age of four. This is a disease in which no color pigments are formed on some parts of the body and white spots appear.
Her skin disease turned her into a supermodel
The current supermodel was bullied at school because of it: "People sometimes ask me when I learned to love myself. But I never had a problem with my skin. I had a problem with the way people treated me because of my skin," Harlow told "People" magazine.
Harlow at the top of the fashion world
In 2014, the 29-year-old was discovered by "America's Next Top Model" boss and supermodel Tyra Banks on Instagram and took part in the 21st season. Although she did not win, she began to get modeling jobs. She was quickly booked by magazines such as "i-D", "Glamour" and "Cosmopolitan" and also worked with brands such as Fendi, Tommy Hilfiger, Swarovski and Victoria's Secret.
Today, the 29-year-old has made it to the top of the fashion world. "My motto today is: You only have one life. Live it for yourself and no one else. Do what you want!"
"She's such a rad appearance"
Winnie Harlow will be a guest judge in the 10th episode of "Germany's Next Topmodel". The 29-year-old sparked great enthusiasm among the candidates: "She's such a rad appearance. I almost fainted!" says Jana. But alongside the anticipation of the guest judge, there was also a lot of tension among the models. Mare suspected: "I think there's going to be a really radical sorting out today and two girls and four boys have to go."
Winnie Harlow gave the models a valuable tip before the catwalk: "I want you to walk with confidence, with strength and - this is the most important thing - with power." Guest judge Winnie Harlow was ready to stand by Heidi Klum during the difficult elimination: "Let's make tough decisions!" Who will manage to withstand the headwind during the difficult walk? And who will falter?
You can see who makes it to the next round and who has to leave the show on Thursday at 20:15 on ProSieben.
