At Linz train station
Police officers bring motionless woman back to life
Patrick and Sebastian normally keep a watchful eye on road traffic. On Wednesday, they saved the life of a Linz woman (47) who was lying motionless on the platform at Pichling station - with a defibrillator and cardiac massage.
At around 9.54 a.m. on Wednesday, the patrol of the Provincial Traffic Department (LVA) was in the Linz city area. The two officers heard a radio message about a motionless person at Linz-Pichling station.
Defibrillator on board
Patrick and his colleague Sebastian had the newly purchased defibrillator with them at the time and immediately drove to the station. When they arrived on the platform, they found a 47-year-old woman from Linz lying motionless on the ground. Patrick could not detect any breathing and therefore immediately initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation. In the meantime, the defibrillator was prepared and the Linz woman showed signs of life again after the first pressure was applied to her chest.
Emergency doctor took over
The police officers carried out the basic measures until the emergency doctor arrived. This meant that the patient could be handed over to the emergency medical service for initial treatment.
