Doppler’s new start: a world of beauty instead of the smell of petrol

Following the sale of the Turmöl petrol stations, Franz Joseph Doppler is reinventing himself. With his holding company, the man from Wels is investing in real estate and future-oriented areas. The latest coup: the takeover of the cosmetics brand andmetics in Pasching, where his wife has now also joined the management team.

At the beginning of July 2023, Franz Joseph Doppler surprised everyone by announcing the sale of his 266-station petrol station network with the brands Turmöl, Turmgas, Turmstrom and Austrocard to the Polish Orlen Group.

What will he do afterwards? "I wouldn't rule anything out," said the 39-year-old entrepreneur, hinting that he wanted to look for growth potential for the remaining group of companies.

Who would have thought that Doppler would move into the beauty business? It has been official since Wednesday that the Welser's holding company with Vera Doppler, the entrepreneur's wife, now holds 51 percent of andmetics. The company is based in Pasching and specializes in eyebrow and eyelash styling.

Operating from Pasching, andmetics is represented in retail, but also supplies the professional sector, which includes hairdressing and styling salons.

"The beauty industry has stayed with me for years and I firmly believe in its potential," emphasizes Vera Doppler, who pulls the strings alongside the previous Managing Director Hannes Freudenthaler and is now flying with him to the America's Beauty Show in Chicago.

Two pillars
Incidentally, the holding company of the former mineral oil trader now has two pillars: Doppler Invests operates as an investment company in the energy, health, technology and beauty sectors, while Doppler Real Estate focuses on real estate projects.
