Upper Austrian company defies the environment
Record! Miba increases sales revenue to € 1.2 billion
"We are strategically well positioned to continue on our path," says F. Peter Mitterbauer. The words of the Miba CEO resonate with confidence, although he also emphasizes that the economic environment is difficult. Nevertheless, the family-owned company managed to increase its turnover to 1.2 billion euros last year.
In the last 15 years, Miba has tripled its sales revenue, doubling it in the last ten years - and so the company, which operates from Laakirchen (Upper Austria), ended up with EUR 1.205 billion last year. "An increase of more than eight percent compared to 2022/23," said CEO F. Peter Mitterbauer, pleased with the development, which represents a record.
We are broadly positioned - in the markets, in the applications and in the region. The fact that we stand on several legs gives us stability. We are also driven by the indispensable will to bring out innovations.

At the end of January, Miba employed 7622 people worldwide, exactly 2976 of whom worked at the sites in Austria. In the Alpine republic alone, the workforce grew by around 130.
Expansion in Kirchbach, new building in Laakirchen
Two major investment projects are also currently underway in Austria: Firstly, the plant of EBG, a manufacturer of resistors for high-performance electronics, is currently being expanded in Kirchbach in Styria. "We are doubling the production space here," says Mitterbauer.
On the other hand, a construction site is also coming to the Laakirchen site. Miba is building a training and further education center there. The ground-breaking ceremony is due to take place in the next few weeks.
