Raiffeisen crime: Bank at Attersee also affected?
The real estate entrepreneur Siegfried Stieglitz from Steyr is demanding 1.2 million euros from Raiffeisenbank Attersee-Süd. The reason was a real estate deal between real estate developers via a Raiffeisenbank account. As the bank does not want to pay out the money, he has now reported it and filed a statement of facts with the public prosecutor's office in Wels - this is available to the "Krone".
Stieglitz was on the Supervisory Board of Asfinag from 2018 to 2020. Together with former FP Vice-Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache, he was acquitted last year in the criminal donation trial. Last summer, Stieglitz's real estate company Kiara sold a plot of land in Guntramsdorf to a Lower Austrian company for eight million euros. The purchasing company undertook to make a down payment of 1.2 million euros. Another company then became involved in the planned project to build eleven semi-detached houses and four detached villas. This company declared that it would pay the 1.2 million euros. The money was to be transferred from their bank balance at Raiffeisenbank Attersee-Süd.
But: "Raiffeisenbank Attersee-Süd persistently refuses to make the payment to Kiara Immobiliengesellschaft," says the complaint. Although there is even a court order of execution from the Mödling district court. In a statement, the bank announced that it had had to block the account, which holds a total of 9.8 million. In an interview with OÖN, Stieglitz suspects that the bank is speculating on the insolvency of the company and is therefore not paying out the money.
The companies involved in the real estate deal belong to a real estate entrepreneur from Salzburg, whose group has recently seen companies go bankrupt. The company in question is also linked to the loan defaults amounting to 20 million euros at Raiffeisenbank Flachgau Mitte. Following the defaults, the Salzburg regional bank had to be financially supported by the Salzburg Raiffeisen Association with 18.5 million euros.
Raiffeisenbank Attersee-Süd has itself brought a civil action against a Viennese real estate company. The case concerns outstanding loan arrears amounting to 4.1 million euros. The bank did not wish to comment on the legal dispute with Stieglitz when asked by OÖN.
