Furious! Carinthian duo on their way to the 2nd division

Two Carinthian footballers are about to march through to the 2nd division with the small regional league promotion team Voitsberg.

"Nobody really expected that!" says Martin Salentinig himself in amazement. The man from Klagenfurt, who plays for Voitsberg, is having a tremendous season with the West Styrians: Having been promoted (!), they are currently smiling from first place with an eleven-point lead (with one game less!) over their pursuers Wallern and Gurten - and were also recently the only team to be granted admission to the 2nd division in the first instance!

Contract situation is being clarified
"The club did a lot in the winter - new TV tower, pitch, adapted the stadium," explains the 31-year-old right-back, who naturally wants to return to the professional game. Especially as the sports scientist already made five appearances for the WAC in the Bundesliga in 2013/14. "My contract is coming to an end, but it looks good that I can hang on for another year!" says Salentinig.

Meeting with former colleagues
On Sunday, of all teams, the WAC Amateurs await in St. Andrä - with his former colleagues Nemanja Rnic and Christian Dobnik as coaches. "I was able to learn a lot from Rnic in particular back then - I'm looking forward to it!"

Teacher scored four goals
The second Carinthian in the Voitsberg squad is also happy: captain Luka Caculovic (28). The Villach defender played for the "Jungwölfe" in 2015/16 and has scored four goals this season. And Luka's future is also clear: the geography and English teacher has one year left on his contract. In short, a new Carinthian duo could conquer the 2nd division in the coming season.
