The family of the last Austrian emperor traveled to Speyer for the celebrations surrounding the 750th anniversary of the reign of Rudolf I - once the first Habsburg on the throne. The "Krone" has the greatest pictures and hottest news.

In October 1273, Rudolf I was the first Habsburg to ascend the throne of the Holy Roman Empire; in 1921, Charles I of the same lineage left it as the last Emperor of Austria.

Family history comes together
The members of the Order of St. George celebrated over 750 years together with the Archbishop of Prague, Cardinal Dominik Jaroslav Duka.

A large part of the family was present for the anniversary, which the head of the family Karl Habsburg had already wanted to address last year, but was unable to attend due to his prostate cancer. Karl-Konstantin, nephew of Grand Master Karl, was ceremoniously inducted into the Order in the imposing Speyer Cathedral.

It's not just the Order that is growing ...
But this highlight was not the only one. Eleonore, Charles' daughter and therefore great-granddaughter of the last emperor, is expecting her second child with husband Jérôme D'Ambrosio!
