Debut goal for Hallwang joker in front and behind

Seven teams are currently battling it out for three promotion places in the 1st regional league. Why can't anyone pull away? Hallwang demonstrated this on Sunday in Berndorf.

After 19 of 26 rounds, there are only a measly five points between the leaders and seventh-placed team in the 1st Landesliga. A look at the results showed that only Schwarzach celebrated a victory, knocking Neumarkt off their throne with a well-deserved 4-2 home win. Like the other rivals, Hallwang were held to a 1-1 draw at table neighbors Berndorf.

Own goal sealed the draw
"They dominated for 85 minutes," admitted Berndorf section manager Werner Baier. "But we should have sealed the game earlier," said the visitors' coach Damir Borozni. Who, when asked about the long stoppage time afterwards, saw red for criticism. The focus was on new winter signing Alkali Kamara, who turned out to be the unlucky one. The joker scored his long-awaited first goal in his third appearance (70'). However, three minutes turned into four and a half minutes of stoppage time. After a long throw-in, the youngster rose high - and extended the ball over his keeper and into his own goal - 1:1 (94').

Consolation for the relegated team: Nothing happened and the planning is still underway. Already fixed: "Michael Pletschacher will join us from Bergheim in the summer," revealed coach Borozni. Further consolation: things don't look any better in the bottom half of the table. There are eight points between bottom-placed Bad Hofgastein and eighth-placed Mühlbach im Pinzgau.
