Oh dear!
Michael Douglas was mistaken for his daughter’s grandpa
He has done more than well for his age. But recently, Michael Douglas got a reality check that left him deeply wounded in his vanity.
The 79-year-old revealed in an interview with "The Telegraph" that he had visited his daughter Carys on her university's parents' day.
Douglas was mistaken for his daughter's grandfather
After his arrival, the Oscar winner was stopped at the entrance: "I was told, 'Sorry, it's not grandparents' day, it's parents' day! To which I then said 'I'm a parent!"
21-year-old Carys attends Brown University in Rhode Island, where her brother Dylan (23) also graduated.
Douglas also has son Cameron (45) with ex-wife Diandra Luker, to whom he was married from 1977 to 2000. In the same year, he married Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Married for 23 years
Both spouses have a sense of humor, proving that they have lasted an incredibly long time by Hollywood standards. On their 23rd wedding anniversary last November, the 54-year-old posted snapshots of herself and her husband from the past two and a half decades with the caption "Darling Michael, your Nobel Peace Prize awaits you". She added: "Celebrating 23 years of marriage today. I love you ... from your beloved wife, a Gold Star Medal of Honor winner."
The latter was a joke referring to the American Order of Merit for American military personnel. It is awarded for exceptional courage in the face of the enemy. And, of course, the Nobel Peace Prize for Douglas referred solely to the fact that her husband seems to be the cooler head during stormy marriage scenes.
