Leobendorf on a high
Fürhauser proves his critics wrong
Norbert Schweitzer breathed new life into Leobendorf in the winter, but was ultimately too expensive for the Eastern League club. So they put their trust in Lukas Fürhauser. Which some fans took note of with skepticism. A 37-year-old who previously coached Sierndorf in the 2nd regional league and has hardly any experience - can that work? It certainly can! After the 1:0 win over Rapid II, Leobendorf are the only unbeaten team this spring.
"The boys are always hungry"
"I'm delighted," said Fürhauser, who used to play for the club himself, proving his critics wrong. "The boys always keep working, are always greedy." Especially attacker Marco Sahanek (34). The veteran is currently experiencing his second spring, recently scoring the winning goal against Jungrapidler and TWL Elektra. "He has enormous quality. But I don't want to single anyone out, we're strong in both defense and defense." And finally injury-free. Which is why Fürhauser is spoiled for choice.
"I think the fact that we can draw from the full is a big plus at this stage." Or rather: In the fight for the title: The gap to leader Rapid II is only six points. Fürhauser: "There won't be much more to do, they are extremely stable and will get to the finish line."
