A German student has died in a traffic accident in Naples. The 27-year-old was riding a rented bicycle when she collided with a garbage truck in the center of the southern Italian city on Monday night, local police reported. The young woman was taken to hospital seriously injured, but succumbed to her injuries there in the morning.
The exact cause of the accident on a road not far from Piazza Cavourist was initially unclear and is being investigated by the relevant authorities.
Driver had to take a breathalyzer test
According to initial findings, the German woman may have made a sudden change of direction so that the driver of the bin lorry was unable to take evasive action.
