Singer Céline Dion, who suffers from stiff person syndrome, was photographed for the May cover of French "Vogue". In an interview with the magazine published on Monday, she talks about her life with the rare autoimmune disease.

It is "a lot of work" to fight it, but she takes each day as it comes.

Hoping for a "miracle cure"
She has not beaten the disease, the 56-year-old continued. "I hope we find a miracle cure, a way to heal with scientific research, but for now I have to learn to live with it."

She would do physiotherapy and vocal training five days a week. Instead of giving up, she had decided to work with her entire body and mind - "from head to toe" - with a medical team.

Nothing would stop her, the mother of three assured. The love and support of her family, her fans and her team would help her.

Comeback uncertain
She could not currently give a date for a possible return to the stage. She will listen to her body. However, she is holding on to the dream and the will.

Dion announced in 2022 that she had been diagnosed with the rare neurological condition. She suffers from muscle spasms and sometimes has problems walking and singing as a result. The "My Heart Will Go On" singer had therefore canceled all the dates of her "Courage World Tour" in Europe planned for 2023 and 2024.

Surprise appearance at the Grammys
In January, she announced that she would be documenting her fight against her illness in the documentary "I Am: Céline Dion". She caused a surprise with her performance at the Grammys in February. Dion took to the stage to present the best album of the year.
