Three burglars looted a lot of jewelry and cash in Lower Austria, Carinthia and Styria. The Romanian nationals are responsible for nine attempted and 18 completed burglaries, the police announced in a press release on Tuesday. They are said to have caused around 150,000 euros in damage in the 27 crimes committed.
On December 8, 2023, the men committed an evening burglary in a residential building in Leopoldsdorf im Marchfeld in the district of Gänserndorf (Lower Austria) and fled the scene. The victim had alerted the police, who were able to catch the two men (30, 38) in a field. A suspected accomplice, the 29-year-old driver of the getaway vehicle, was caught the same evening.
