"Fire him immediately"
Ex-driver rages: “He’s the worst driver!”
Lance Stroll caused a rear-end collision at the Chinese Grand Prix, which ultimately cost three drivers the race. The Canadian was not very understanding afterwards, which also angered former Danish racing driver Jason Watt. "Fire him immediately," he raged, who considers Stroll to be the "worst driver in the field" anyway.
During a safety car phase, the Aston Martin driver crashed into the rear of Racing Bulls driver Daniel Ricciardo. The Australian was furious after his no-fault retirement, as Stroll was initially not aware of any fault. "Apparently I'm the idiot here and it was my fault. I'm doing my best not to say what I want to say, but fuck that guy," cursed Ricciardo.
"There's nothing to discuss at all"
For former racing driver Jason Watt, Stroll is "the worst driver in the field". Aston Martin should "fire him immediately", the Dane railed on the streaming channel "Viaplay". Finnish endurance driver Toni Vilander was also harsh on Stroll. "He doesn't care about this whole situation. There's nothing to discuss, it was completely Stroll's fault. He totally misjudged the situation because he wasn't paying attention."
Stroll should have taken responsibility for the action, Vilander demanded. "It would be much easier for him to get out of the situation if he said, like Kimi Räikkönen, for example: I crashed, it was my fault. Sorry," he said.
"Typical racing accident"
Instead, in his reaction after the race, Stroll spoke of a "typical racing accident" that was not really anyone's fault. Criticism of the son of racing team owner Lawrence Stroll is getting louder and louder. He already fell far short of his team's expectations last season. This season, he has only finished in the top 10 twice.
