Celebrate May 1st with a touch of luxury. The "Krone" is giving away 10 boxes, each containing three bottles of exquisite national and international red wines. An expression of tradition and enjoyment with every sip.

Wines from local cultivation
Austria's wine culture is known worldwide for its outstanding quality and diversity. Characterized by the country's unique climatic and geological conditions, the red wines offer a taste experience that delights connoisseurs and occasional connoisseurs alike. The selection of red wines comes from some of Austria's most renowned winegrowers. It combines care and passion in every drop and reflects the rich tradition and innovative strength of Austrian winemaking.

  • Blauer Wildbacher from the Lex Langmann winery
This red wine from the 2018 vintage is a real gem from Western Styria. Known as Schilcher, Blauer Wildbacher stands out with its intense aroma. The tasting notes include currants and dark cherries, complemented by nuances of walnut and Far Eastern spices. The wine was aged for 40 months in French oak barrels, which gives the tannins a wonderful roundness and intensifies the fruit. A world-class wine that is served at 16°C in a large Burgundy glass.

  • Zweigelt unfiltered from the Christina Netzl winery
A bright red, unfiltered Zweigelt from 2022 that impresses with its naturalness and freshness. Tina Netzl, the winemaker, has created this wine with great attention to detail. It has a juicy cherry aroma and is light on the palate, which makes it particularly refreshing. The soft tannin on the finish rounds off the drinking experience. A drinking temperature of 14°C is recommended to allow the aromas to fully develop.

  • Motz & Marie natural.bio.red from the Robert Payr winery
A cuvée from the 2021 vintage made from Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt, traditionally fermented on the skins and then matured in stainless steel tanks on the lees. This wine is a tribute to the winemaker's ancestors, Matthäus and Maria Payr. It presents itself with lively fruit and spirited acidity, complemented by a surprising note of fleur de sel. A down-to-earth wine that offers a special drinking experience when chilled

  • Zweigelt Nouveau from the Dorli Muhr winery
Inspired by the Beaujolais Nouveau wines, this Zweigelt from 2022 is a celebration of youthfulness and freshness. The grapes are harvested early and processed carefully to preserve the natural carbonic acid in the wine. The wine is matured partly in stainless steel and partly in large wooden barrels and bottled unfiltered. It is characterized by its effervescence and liveliness, perfect for carefree moments.

  • Béla-Jóska from the Wachter-Wiesler winery
This Blaufränkisch embodies the essence of the Eisenberg, characterized by ferruginous loam and green slate. The wine, which is named after the winemaker's grandfathers, has a distinctive spiciness and concise character, making it an ideal companion for social gatherings. Served slightly chilled, it reveals its best aromas.

  • That's Amore from the Strehn winery
The perfect match for pizza is juicy, elegant with velvety tannins, fine dark fruit nuances and a spicy finish. For Pia Strehn, the 2021 cuvée stands for a feeling: "Casual dining, a good mood ... and super good drinking flow!"

A journey through the world's wine cultures
The fascination for wines knows no bounds. The carefully selected collection of international wines takes you on a journey of discovery through some of the world's most renowned wine regions. From the rolling hills of Portugal to the historic terroirs of Italy, each wine tells the story of its origin and reflects the craftsmanship of its winemakers. These wines have been selected to showcase the diverse flavor profiles and unique characteristics of their home regions. Immerse yourself in the world of global viticulture and experience how each bottle builds a bridge between tradition and modern vinification.

  • Voyeur Vinho Tinto from the Niepoort Voyeur winery in Portugal
A witty, indigenous blend of red and white grapes from 40 to 50-year-old vines, aged in 1,000-liter clay amphorae. The result of this 2021 vintage is a very light, almost rosé-colored red wine with brilliant juiciness and freshness. Like the color, the nose is extremely delicate. Red cherry, raspberry, cranberry, light floral accents, also mint and light licorice underneath. On the palate, it's all about the sweet and sour, red berry fruit. Again cherry, a touch of pomegranate, raspberry, everything glides over the tongue totally weightlessly and virtually without tannin.

  • Vernatsch Kaltersee Classico Superiore from the Tramin winery in South Tyrol
Mediterranean climate meets cold downdraughts from the Mendel massif - the temperature fluctuations between day and night and the calcareous, loamy to gravelly-loamy soils on which the vines of the Tramin winery thrive make their wines so incredibly fresh. Even the Gewürztraminer. And also the reds, such as this Vernatsch from Lake Kaltern from 2022. It comes into the glass light and low in tannins and tastes pleasantly mild and fruity. Uncomplicated, perfect for in between meals. It goes wonderfully with a hearty snack, but also with white meat or mild cheese.

  • Assmannshäuser Pinot Noir sparkling wine from the VAUX winery in Germany
Sparkling wine in red? Has a long tradition in the Rheingau and among the sparkling wine specialists at VAUX. The 2018 Pinot Noir from the famous steep slope in Assmannshausen is bottled as a terroir-typical red sparkling wine in a limited edition and surprises with a balanced interplay of dark fruit aromas - such as sour cherries - and fine acidity. Goes particularly well with grilled and braised meats and also with desserts such as a warm chocolate cake.

  • Herdade do Rocim Amphora from the Rocim winery in Portugal
Catarina Vieira and Pedro Ribeiro produce this traditional wine from the indigenous grape varieties Moreto, Tinta Grossa, Trincadeira and Aragonez. The grapes are grown in Vidigueira, the coolest place in the Alentejo region. The cold breezes that blow inland from the Atlantic give the wines their special style. Vinification is carried out with wild yeast in clay amphorae and without temperature control. The result is a creamy yet fresh wine (only 12% vol.) with a salty and structured minerality.
