As a complete surprise, comedian Oliver Pocher brought the controversial musician Xavier Naidoo on stage during his tour appearance in Saarbrücken. His fans reacted with mixed feelings to the surprise guest. 

He didn't want to say too much, but Xavier Naidoo was "in da house", Pocher fired up his audience, as could be seen in a reel on Instagram.

"The best singer for me! Thank you for the trust and your performance today!" he wrote on one of his Naidoo posts. The two have reportedly known each other for 20 years and are friends. Naidoo even sang his hit "Ich kenne nichts (das so schön ist wie du)" at Pocher's wedding to Sandy.

"Seriously now?"
The comments under Pocher's posts ranged from "How indescribably beautiful, a sign of life from Xavier!!!!!" and "Simply brilliant!" to "With all his awesome songs and great memories, I can't forgive him for the corona swearing (...)" and "Seriously now? That's where it ends...Bye...That's it for me..." and "Next up, the Wendler?".

Naidoo has reformed
The 52-year-old singer has attracted attention in the past due to conspiracy theories, from which he has since distanced himself. "I have said and done things that I regret today," says the musician from Mannheim, whose image and career have suffered greatly as a result of his comments.

He withdrew from the limelight in 2020, which was his first appearance on a stage.

He was previously known for statements that earned him accusations of anti-Semitism and racism. He appeared together with supporters of the so-called Reichsbürger movement, spread QAnon theories and caused controversy with his views on the coronavirus pandemic - similar to singer Nena.

His friend Oliver Pocher also made fun of Naidoo's swearing in the meantime.
