Holzleitner (SPÖ):
“ÖVP must put its own house in order”
The Ideenschmiede case could be Herbert Kickl's undoing in the U Committee. "Money flows do not indicate the politics of the little man, but someone who likes to get more and more money," says Eva Maria Holzleitner, SPÖ parliamentary group leader on the ÖVP U-committee in the krone.tv talk.
In the Ideenschmiede case, FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl can be accused of allegedly failing to declare flows of money that should have been declared. The question is then also whether everything was taxed correctly, explains Holzleitner.
However, it is interesting that the ÖVP is throwing stones and that ÖVP parliamentary group leader Andreas Hanger describes the FPÖ as a "thoroughly corrupt party". Above all, the ÖVP must put its own house in order. "When they talk about the FPÖ being oh so corrupt and unfit to govern, then I wonder why they are still in a coalition with the FPÖ in Upper Austria, Lower Austria and Salzburg." For the SPÖ, it is quite clear that the FPÖ should be excluded, said Holzleitner. "At federal level, but also at state level."
Highly classified data
The espionage affair that has now emerged is no small matter. For the SPÖ, it is clear that clarification must be provided by a parliamentary control commission. The SPÖ had already set this up in the form of the DSN. In any case, a sub-committee would no longer be possible until the National Council elections due to the deadlines. But even after the election, in the next legislative period, caution must be exercised in this case, as it involves extremely sensitive data and documents, some of which are subject to state protection. Holzleitner: "This data would be delivered in an extremely high level of secrecy. A public debate, as is the case with the other U-committees, would not be possible."
