At Lake Wolfgangsee
Covered lake stage for “Mystical” will soon be ready
As the highlight of "1100 Years of St. Wolfgang", the mystical musical "Wolf - the Mystical" will be performed on a new, completely covered Salzkammergut lake stage on Lake Wolfgangsee. The construction of the stage - a modern steel and wood structure - is right on schedule. Nothing stands in the way of the premiere on May 23.
"Everything is on schedule for the lake stage, which also projects out over the shore," says Christian Meyer, Managing Director of Wolfgang Betriebs GmbH, giving an insight into the final stages of the impressive new steel and timber construction planned by architect Eduard Neversal. The aim is to set new standards. "The stage is mobile, can be dismantled within a week and quickly reassembled," says Meyer. There is already interest from municipalities in the Salzkammergut region.
"We are in nature and completely independent of the weather thanks to a roof!"

Stage in the "upper league"
The size of the venue is comparable to the theater on the Pernerinsel in Hallein. From each of the 800 seats, you will be able to enjoy the lake panorama with a good view of the stage, which measures around 250 square meters. It is also equipped with "full stage technology". Rehearsals will begin here on May 10.
Musical with hits and dance numbers
The musical play "Wolf - The Mystical", presented by the "Krone", celebrates the 1100th birthday of the patron saint of the Wolfgangsee region.
A total of 19 performers will bring Franzobel's libretto and Gerd Hermann Ortler's music to the stage with prominent characters, as we reported. "It's going to be a huge show with great dance and song numbers," says Meyer, who already got his first impressions during the rehearsals, which are currently still taking place in Vienna.
New musical paths too
In the course of the Mysticals and the release of the first "Wolf" song, new musical standards are also being set at Lake Wolfgangsee. The legendary cult band "Opus" has reinterpreted the song "Kein Heiliger sein / No Saint" together with the "Schick Sisters" in collaboration with Franzobel, Viktoria Schubert and the composer Ortler.
The main actors: Konstantin Zander has been cast as Bishop Wolfgang von Regensburg, while Anna Mateur embodies the devil as a helper and adversary on Lake Wolfgang.
By the way: the arrival and departure on the Wolfgangsee boat trip is just as extraordinary as the lake stage and the "Mystical". From the Schafberg train station and the parking lot in Gschwendt, guests are taken across the lake to the venue, as there are no parking spaces on site.
