Bounty on the head
Unscrupulous fraudster made a big haul
A 38-year-old man is suspected of having defrauded at least six victims of millions - in some cases using violence.
Even criminals have a kind of code of honor. Scammers, for example, normally refrain from using violence and pull the wool over their victims' eyes with mind games. But the case of Martin Marinkovic is different. Firearms and beatings also play a major role in this crime thriller. In the supporting roles: Crypto money, gold coins, "blossoms" and rich sheikhs.
According to the state of the investigation, the 38-year-old is said to have relieved at least six victims of more than two million euros. Together with his accomplices, he initiated supposedly lucrative transactions - involving luxury watches, real estate and financial investments. The sole aim was to defraud his "customers" through and through. He gained the trust of the victims during personal meetings and telephone calls, and the trap was sprung when the money was handed over. In technical jargon, this is known as a "rip deal".
And if the victims became suspicious at the last moment, a gun was pressed to their chest - and they paid.
3000 euros reward offered for information
A European arrest warrant has now been issued for the 38-year-old. Although his identity is known, Marinkovic has gone into hiding. A bounty of 3000 euros has now been offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Information to: 01/31310-62510.
