Wanted to drive out of the valley
Public bus as getaway vehicle: shoplifter caught
A suspected shoplifter used a public bus as a "getaway vehicle" on Wednesday afternoon in the Tyrolean Stubai Valley. After the Lithuanian (27) stole two jackets from a store in Neustift, the suspect was caught by the police during an "intensive check".
Shortly before 3 p.m., a sales clerk in a sports store in Neustift in the Stubaital raised the alarm with the police. He stated that an unknown perpetrator had just stolen two jackets and fled.
Traffic out of the valley "intensively" controlled
The thief apparently wanted to flee the valley as quickly as possible. The police suspected the same thing and carried out an "intensive check" on the traffic heading out of the valley. And indeed, the officers were able to "fish" the suspected perpetrator out of a bus.
The suspected perpetrator confessed during interrogation.
Die Ermittler
The suspect, a 27-year-old Lithuanian, was provisionally arrested and questioned at the police station in Neustift. "He confessed", according to the investigators. The 27-year-old will be charged. The two jackets were confiscated and subsequently returned to the sports store.
