"Emetic" slogan
Counterstatement: This is how Böhmermann counters Schweiger
Jan Böhmermann is for him "the biggest emetic in the German media landscape", Til Schweiger said in an interview with Die Zeit this week. It was predictable that the TV star would not leave this without comment. Böhmermann has now countered with a "rebuttal" on Instagram.
He doesn't like satirist Jan Böhmermann and comedian Oliver Pocher at all, Til Schweiger jibed in an interview with Die Zeit, "because they only ever laugh at the expense of others" and can only dish it out but not take it.
Schweiger listened "to the little angel"
Above all, however, he harbored fantasies of violence against Böhmermann and dreamed of giving him "a big slap" one day, Schweiger continued. In the same breath, he described a meeting in a Lufthansa lounge in which the TV star "buried himself behind the 'Süddeutsche Zeitung'".
"Thank God I didn't listen to the little devil in my head, but to the little angel and spared him," said Schweiger.
Böhmermann countered with a "counterstatement"
Of course, it was to be expected that statements like these would not go uncommented on. In his Instagram story, Böhmermann responded with his usual irony - and published a "rebuttal" to Schweiger's interview.
"I have never met Til Schweiger in a Lufthansa lounge," Böhmermann clarified in his message - and continued: "I have never read the 'Süddeutsche Zeitung' either."
Encounter on a Eurowings flight
However, Böhmermann went on to say that there had actually been an encounter. He had already reported on this in his podcast "Fest & Flauschig". How did this encounter happen? "I once sat behind Til Schweiger in economy class on a Eurowings flight to Berlin, he sat in the front in business."
"Very upset and angry"
However, he only discovered Schweiger when he got off the plane "because I left the plane (before him)". However, Böhmermann went on to say that he thought it unlikely that the actor had seen him. Schweiger was "very upset and angry" because "he had been trying in vain to undo his seatbelt for several minutes".
He then joked: "I can't remember exactly whether there were six or seven empty 0.2 white wine bottles on the empty business class seat next to Til Schweiger."
Böhmermann "a peace-loving person"
In further Insta stories, Böhmermann also spoke out via video - and teased in Schweiger style: "If I ever meet 'Zeit' editor-in-chief Giovanni di Lorenzo in person one day, I'll punch him in the face, I swore to myself."
The journalist would get "a slap from me", the TV satirist added ironically and even challenged di Lorenzo to a "boxing match". Not without emphasizing, of course, that he is in fact "a peace-loving person".
Pocher "likes Til Schweiger"
Oliver Pocher also reacted to the Schweiger interview - but in an almost unusually tame manner. In his story, the comedian only published a photo showing him together with the German acting star.
Pocher wrote: "I like Til Schweiger", and added several kiss emojis.
