Penny strengthens regional local supply in Burgenland

Penny enriches Burgenland: at the end of April, the local supplier opened a new store in Jennersdorf and reopened the location in Neusiedl am See with a new look. Penny is thus strengthening regional local supply with an extensive range of products at discount prices. In addition to the wide range of products, the stores are characterized by their butchers, who are on hand to help and advise customers.

In Jennersdorf, at Eisenstädterstraße 11, the newly opened PENNY store has opened its doors to customers with immediate effect. On a sales area of over 685 square meters, the new store offers a selection of around 1900 products, including more than 200 items from the regional brand "Ich bin Österreich".

PENNY bakes the bread from predominantly Austrian bakers fresh in the store. With "Food For Future", the brand discounter also has a vegan own brand. The motto is variety instead of sacrifice: vegan meat sausage, oat milk and vegan cheese underline the variety of products.

Completely renovated store enriches Neusiedl am See
In Neusiedl am See, at Wiener Straße 122, a completely renovated Penny store has reopened. The refreshed store, which covers over 690 square meters, also offers a wide range of products, including the "ECHT BIO!" organic segment and the new vegan options from the "Food For Future" own brand.

Both stores in Burgenland are characterized by special services. Penny is the only discount retailer to have qualified butchers on hand to advise customers and fulfill individual meat requests. The fresh pork, chicken and beef from the "Ich bin Österreich" private label comes 100% from Austria and is also slaughtered here. To counteract food waste, all cuts of meat are processed from "Nose to Tail".

Penny also scores points with its "freshness heroes", who provide fresh fruit and vegetables throughout the day. This underlines the local supplier's commitment to freshness and quality.

Penny focuses on sustainability
Both stores focus on sustainability: they are fully equipped with LED lighting, use green electricity and the latest refrigeration technology, which makes it possible to heat the stores using waste heat from the refrigeration units. Penny is also involved in social projects and supports people in emergency situations with initiatives such as the "Penny Family Relief Fund".
