Car drove off: cyclist crashed during evasive maneuver

A nasty accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Hall in Tirol. A previously unknown car driver drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into a 31-year-old Tyrolean woman who was riding her racing bike. He continued his journey. The police are looking for witnesses. There was also a crash on the A12.

At around 1.30 p.m. on Tuesday, a 31-year-old local woman was riding her racing bike in Hall in the Obere Lend area. While she was riding, a dark blue car came towards her, which the police say was probably a BMW.

The unknown driver drove into the oncoming lane, forcing the cyclist to swerve out of the way. She crashed and suffered serious injuries. The driver of the car continued his journey without stopping. "After the accident, the woman went to Hochrum Hospital on her own for initial treatment," said the police.

Accident on the Inntal highway
At the same time, there was also an accident on the Inntal highway in the Zirl district. There, a 19-year-old car driver hit the rear of the 43-year-old car in front of him. Both vehicles came to a standstill on the hard shoulder.

While the 43-year-old was uninjured, the 19-year-old had to be taken to hospital in Innsbruck by ambulance with minor injuries. Both cars sustained considerable damage.

The first lane was closed while the accident was being investigated and cleared up. As a result, there were brief traffic jams for around 25 minutes before the lane was reopened.
