A suspected serial arsonist has now been tracked down by the Upper Austrian State Criminal Police Office in Vorchdorf. The man is accused of a total of nine cases in two different places of residence.
In Vorchdorf, the outbuilding of a residential building was completely destroyed on the night of April 24th. Firefighters were only just able to prevent the flames from spreading to the attached house and neighboring houses. An expert from the Upper Austrian fire prevention authority determined that the fire had obviously been started.
It was probably also active in Enns
There had been three fires in this outbuilding in Vorchdorf alone in recent years. Incidentally, the 33-year-old is said to have previously lived in Enns, where there were also several arsons at his home address in 2020.
The suspect had more than 2 per mille alcohol in his blood when he was arrested and initially denies all charges. He was sent to Wels prison by order of the public prosecutor's office.
