What a terrible person you must be: a Styrian woman calmly went on vacation, locked up her three dogs and left the trio virtually unattended. The desperate animals - a husky and two Rottweilers - were rescued, emaciated and terrified, by Noah's Ark staff with the support of the Service Dog Inspectorate. 

While a dog owner from Eastern Styria went on vacation, she left her three animals to their terrible fate. The husky and the two Rottweilers (two females and one male) were locked up in separate rooms without proper care.

The conditions on site were devastating: foul-smelling droppings everywhere, the locked doors completely scratched by the desperate animals. The food had long since been eaten.

The Ark animal rescuers would like to thank the authorities, who acted immediately in an emergency, and the Service Dog Inspectorate, who secured the dogs with great patience and loving expertise. It was only thanks to their swift intervention and action that much worse could be prevented.

Animals are now being well cared for
The dogs are doing well under the circumstances - but they are very frightened and very thin, according to a statement from Active Animal Protection. The trio received medical treatment and are now being nursed back to health.
