New race tracks!
F1 boss promises “attractive venues”
Formula 1 is likely to add a circuit or two to its racing program in the coming years. At least that's what CEO Stefano Domenicali has announced. Thailand in particular is considered a top contender to host a Formula 1 race.
But even beyond that, the program could look very different in just a few years. "The strong demand we are receiving shows that the strategy is the right one. Now it's about maintaining the balance between the different countries that want to host the various Grands Prix," explained Domenicali. "I expect to see some new venues in the next few years that could be very attractive to expand Formula 1's business."
Growing demand
The growing popularity among fans has led to high demand among organizers, and consequently the entry fees for hosting the races are also increasing.
While some organizers have contracts until 2030, European organizers in particular must fear that their circuit will be removed from the program in a few years.
