“SloEnduro Days”: “The trails are really good!”

A great start to the "SloEnduro Days" in Klagenfurt. 170 mountain bikers from eight different countries took on the new, recently opened enduro trails on the Falkenberg.

"Unbelievable! Four Irish people found out about our enduro event on their way south and stayed to take part," says Klagenfurt tourism manager Helmuth Micheler, who feels vindicated, as the trails on the Falkenberg have not only created a great infrastructure for Carinthia's mountain bike community, but also for guests.

Based on measurements, it is estimated that 10,000 bikers a month ride the enduro trails on the Falkenberg.

"The bikers from Slovenia, Hungary, Italy and even Finland and the USA like the combination of the beautiful old town, Lake Wörthersee and the bike trails," says Micheler, who is delighted that Klagenfurt will be included as a fixed race date in the SloEnduro series from next year. "This year was all about having fun, although there was also an unofficial ranking for the community, of course."

At SloEnduro Day, the two trails "Jelly Belly" and "Scooby" had to be mastered three times. The starting field was a colorful mix. The youngest starter was nine years old and everyone had a lot of fun on the new enduro trails on the Falkenberg.(Bild: Hannes Wallner)

Between the rides, the bikers were able to enjoy live music at the Felsenkeller on Saturday - including flag-wavers, the Hüttenberg mountain band and the blessing of the bikes. "The trails and the event are an important initiative for enduro sports in Carinthia," says bike trail coordinator Paco Wrolich.
