Shiffrin and Kilde go on summer vacation

Sun, beach and sea instead of snow, ice and skis - winter sports dream couple Mikaela Shiffrin and Aleksander Aamodt Kilde are currently on summer vacation.

Thanks to Instagram, we now know that the two lovebirds are really enjoying themselves. Relaxing on the beach, cruising towards a beautiful bay, water biking - the two ski stars are recharging their batteries. They don't reveal where exactly. Nevertheless, the pictures make you long for summer.

Returning as a married couple?
Will the two possibly return from their vacation as a married couple? Shiffrin and Kilde got engaged just over a month ago. The US double Olympic champion and the recently injured Norwegian promised each other a long-term relationship in Innsbruck, as can be seen in the pictures posted on Instagram and elsewhere. It will probably be a while before the wedding, as Kilde also revealed.

The couple made their relationship public in May 2021. Shiffrin had further cemented her status as the best female ski racer in history the previous month with her 97th World Cup victory. Kilde, who won the overall World Cup in 2020, had suffered a serious fall in Wengen, including a very deep cut in his right calf.

Six-week break
The 29-year-old Shiffrin, who herself had to take six weeks off due to a knee injury, was a pillar of support for the injured skier's recovery. "In difficult times, you realize who loves you and cares about you," Kilde said during this time.
