Knife attack on worker: Cobra overpower man

Knife attack on Monday in Feldkirch: During construction work in a detached house, a resident grabbed a kitchen knife and attacked two workers. The injured victims fled to safety in the forecourt. The attacker barricaded himself in the house and Cobra arrived. The task force was finally able to subdue him with a Taser.

The two workers were taken to different hospitals, the perpetrator under police surveillance, explained the Vorarlberg police. He was also injured, whether by the use of the Taser or a fall during the arrest is currently unclear. According to police spokesman Fabian Marchetti, there is currently no information on the severity of the injuries sustained by the two victims. The attack occurred shortly before 12 noon.

Motive still completely unclear
The investigation is still in its infancy. Evidence is currently being collected and witnesses are being interviewed. There were other residents in the house at the time of the attack. The motive for the knife attack is completely unclear and the subject of the investigation. The man will be questioned as soon as he is fit for questioning.

Pepper spray deployment ineffective
According to VOL.at, the occupant was the son of the family. The Cobra task force initially tried to incapacitate the perpetrator with pepper spray, but were unsuccessful.
