Smaller traffic jams but great enthusiasm

As a prelude to the foodora Linzathlon, 900 participants gave it their all in the junior competition on Friday. Ten obstacles in the fastest possible time - the winners received free tickets for a Black Wings Linz ice hockey game.

Big eyes, a little nervousness, some tingling and lots of anticipation - around 900 children could hardly wait for the starting signal at the Family Ticket Junior Linzathlon. The course was just over two kilometers long, with ten obstacles to overcome. There were some minor traffic jams at the first two. The starters sprinted off as if it were a 100-meter sprint. The youngest participant was just eight years old, the oldest 15, and everyone was fully committed.

 "I may have run out of breath a bit, but I still managed all the obstacles easily," said Fabian proudly at the end. And you could see little Maja's enthusiasm too. "That was really cool. I'll definitely be back next year."

All participants received a medal. And the top three in each category received a very special surprise - an invitation to a Black Wings Linz game. "We had an increase of over 50% in participants compared to last year, which is amazing," said the organizers happily.
