Soldier intervened and prevented theft

When a drunk man committed a theft in a supermarket branch in Favoritenstraße and then became violent, the young Viennese guard Parmvir M. intervened. The 23-year-old kept the raving man at bay until the police arrived.  

"Committed soldierly behavior is also of great importance in civilian life." This was emphasized in a statement from the Ministry of Defense, which reached the "Krone" on Friday afternoon. A member of the armed forces had assumed this responsibility in a special way on Tuesday in Vienna. 

Employee knocked on the window from inside
Parmvir M., 23, a prospective professional soldier, was walking along Favoritenstraße on Tuesday after finishing his duty - still in his uniform - when he noticed the employee of a supermarket knocking on the glass pane from the inside, looking for help. Apparently a drunk man had stolen some food and then started scuffling with the employee. 

Minister with special praise for intervention 
The young corporal did not hesitate for long, entered the store and helped to detain the aggressive thief until the police arrived. This was even worthy of special praise from Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner: "His efforts show that our soldiers are not only willing to take responsibility on duty, but also in everyday life and are committed to the safety of our citizens - civil courage is an indispensable part of our society."
