Viennese man attacked by girlfriend, threatened with knife

A 31-year-old man alerted the police in Vienna-Favoriten on Saturday evening because his girlfriend attacked him several times during an argument and threatened him with a knife. The woman was banned from entering the premises.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found the man with minor injuries to his head. The officers wanted to call the ambulance, but the 31-year-old refused.

Punched and kicked
Apparently a break-up conversation had escalated completely: The man described that his 29-year-old partner had attacked him with punches, kicks and pushes and threatened him with a knife. She also tore up his passport and then left the apartment.

Temporary ban on weapons
A short time later, the 29-year-old Austrian woman returned and was provisionally arrested. She was banned from entering and approaching the premises and a temporary weapons ban was issued. The murder weapon was not found.

According to the police, the suspect refused to make a statement during questioning. She was released by order of the Vienna public prosecutor's office.
