‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star dies after shark attack

Tamayo Perry starred alongside Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz in 2011 in "Pirates of the Caribbean - Stranger Tides", part 4 of the popular pirate series. Now the lifeguard and professional surfer has died after a shark attack in Hawaii.

According to Sky News, the terrible incident took place on Sunday afternoon off the island of Oahu. According to the report, Tamayo Perry, a lifeguard and surfer, had paddled to Malaekahana Beach near Goat Island to meet up with other surfers. 

Succumbed to injuries
On the way there, the 49-year-old was attacked by a shark, a member of Honululu's emergency services explained. A lifeguard brought the seriously injured man to the beach on a jet ski, but all help came too late for Perry. The actor succumbed to his serious injuries.

"He was a world-renowned professional surfer. Tamayo's personality was infectious and as much as people loved him, he loved them all even more," said Kurt Lager, director of marine safety in Honolulu. "Our condolences go out to Tamayo's family and the entire lifeguard ohana."

Pirate role alongside Johnny Depp
Tamayo Perry was not only a talented surfer and lifeguard since 2016, he also appeared in several Hollywood films. In addition to his pirate role in "Pirates of the Caribbean - Stranger Tides", he also starred in "3 Angels for Charlie" and "Blue Crush".
