Wrong-way driver parked on the A1 and slept in the car

Extremely dangerous! A wrong-way driver (23) stopped in the right-hand lane on the Westautobahn near Sankt Lorenz on Saturday evening, switched off the lights and fell asleep in the driver's seat. The police had difficulty waking the drunk 23-year-old.

It could have ended badly: Saturday evening, after 10 p.m., a parked and unlit car was parked on the Westautobahn, in a roadworks area in the municipality of Sankt Lorenz. The reason: a 23-year-old from Amstetten had "parked" there.

The young driver was driving on the A1 as a wrong-way driver. He then stopped in the right-hand lane, switched off the lights and, according to the police, went to sleep in the driver's seat.

Driver was fast asleep
The police received several emergency calls reporting the wrong-way driver and the vehicle parked in the middle of the highway. When the police arrived, they were in for another unpleasant surprise: the 23-year-old had difficulty waking up in his locked car.

1.6 per mille
A subsequent alcohol test showed that the Amstetten man had a blood alcohol level of 1.6 per mille. His driver's license has been confiscated for the time being and charges will be brought. The great luck of the drunk 23-year-old and all passing drivers: there was no accident in this extremely dangerous situation.
