86-year-old woman surprised and robbed in her sleep

Last week, an 86-year-old Styrian woman had to experience every homeowner's nightmare in her house near Gleisdorf: The senior citizen was woken up during the night by burglars and robbed. The perpetrators fled with a small amount of cash and the 86-year-old was slightly injured. 

On Wednesday last week, there was a home invasion in Hofstätten an der Raab (Weiz district), as the police have now reported. 

At around 11.15 p.m., an 86-year-old woman was woken from her sleep by two masked burglars. "We assume that the perpetrators broke in through a window", according to the regional police headquarters. The men dragged the elderly woman into the kitchen and demanded cash. According to the victim, the perpetrators, who are said to have worn a kind of balaclava, spoke with a foreign accent.

One of the perpetrators searched the entire house. When he had finished, the burglars locked the woman in the kitchen and fled. 

The woman was able to climb out of the kitchen window herself and sought help from a neighboring house. By the time the police arrived, the perpetrators were already out of the house. They stole a small amount of cash. The 86-year-old was slightly injured and suffered hematomas and abrasions on her arms. 

As the perpetrators were masked and the victim was unable to give any further details, there is no concrete description of the perpetrators.
