Carlos Sainz: “I’ve learned to be selfish”

Williams, Alpine or Sauber? Carlos Sainz, who will have to vacate his Ferrari cockpit for Lewis Hamilton at the end of the season, currently has three offers on the table for 2025, but does not want to be rushed into making his decision - even if he blocks other teams in the process.

"I know that other teams and drivers are waiting for my decision, but at the same time that doesn't change anything, because it only affects the timing and not the outcome of the decisions," explained the Spaniard ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix. "All the teams have probably already made their decisions at this point."

No rush
Especially as it doesn't hurt to focus on yourself in the individual sport of Formula 1 ... "In this world and in this sport, I've learned to be a bit selfish. I look at myself and I make decisions the way I want to and when it's right for me," says Sainz. As there is no need for him to rush, he will not allow himself to be stressed.

The 29-year-old is currently in fourth place in the drivers' championship, four points separate him from his team-mate Charles Leclerc, who is currently in third place and will also be able to race for the Scuderia next season.
