Pursuit ends in Bavaria after burglary in Tyrol

Wild scenes unfolded on Friday evening in the Tyrolean lowlands and in neighboring Bavaria: After a burglary in a house in the district of Kufstein, the suspects fled across the border by car. In the course of a chase, the suspects - four Chileans - were finally stopped and arrested by the police.

The break-in into a detached house in Vorderthiersee in the district of Kufstein took place on Friday evening. The neighbors got wind of it and immediately raised the alarm. "The informants were able to give the Austrian police part of the license plate number of the car that fled the scene of the crime," said the Bavarian police.

Why Bavarian police? The perpetrators fled across the border. "As part of the immediately initiated manhunt, on both the Austrian and German sides, the getaway car was spotted in the Hausham area, district of Miesbach, by forces from the Raubling border police station and was subsequently pursued by numerous forces," it continues.

In the course of the intensified search measures, with the help of a police helicopter and service dogs, four suspects were arrested for the time being.

Occupants fled on foot
After a "risky escape" and "several traffic violations", the car was finally stopped in Au near Bad Feilnbach. The occupants, who fled on foot, were pursued by the police.

A helicopter and service dogs were also deployed. In the end, all four suspects were tracked down and arrested. According to the German police, the suspects are four Chileans aged between 19 and 33. Further investigations are underway.
