Woman (34) given shelter, then beaten up

A woman from Vienna-Hietzing wanted to do something good at the weekend. However, she didn't know that her plan would backfire when she gave shelter to an acquaintance who was unable to resist. The man was drunk and is said to have suddenly attacked her with punches. The police were alerted.

It was around 11 p.m. when the 34-year-old went into her apartment in Hietzing with her friend. She gave the 33-year-old homeless man shelter when the attack suddenly occurred. The man is said to have punched the woman, who fled from the apartment and immediately confided in the police, who had just carried out a traffic stop.

The emergency services went to the victim's apartment, where they found and arrested the 33-year-old. According to the police, the man was already known to the police and was also aggressive and intoxicated. In the course of the investigation, it also emerged that the homeless man had allegedly threatened the victim's brother with a knife before.

Although the man did not confess, he was reported to the police and banned from entering and approaching the victim. He already had a weapons ban.
