Ex-Brau Union boss joins family business

From beer to lemonade: Egger Getränke produces 300 million units of beverages every year.

One year after Klaus Schörghofer had to vacate his position as head of Brau Union Österreich, the 43-year-old is returning to the limelight. Schörghofer will join the management of the Egger Getränke Group in September.

In June 2023, it was announced that Klaus Schörghofer would have to vacate the executive chair at Brau Union. Hans Böhm then also took over responsibility at the Heineken subsidiary in September. Since then, things have been quiet around Schörghofer. Until now!

Schörghofer was with Brau Union for 19 years
The 43-year-old, who started at the Austrian beer giant as Junior Controller in 2005 and was appointed General Director of Brau Union Austria in 2020, has a new job. In September, he will join the management of the Egger Getränke Group. He will form a dual leadership team with Reinhard Grießler at the company, which operates from Unterradlberg (Lower Austria).

Schörghofer had already been working with Egger Getränke in recent months as an independent consultant. "I had the opportunity to get to know the owner family and thus also an impressive Austrian family business," says Schörghofer.

Egger Getränke bottles around 300 million units of beverages every year in Unterradlberg near St. Pölten. The company's brands include Egger beer, Radlberger and Granny's apple juice.
