Carmen Geiss: “Could no longer walk & talk”

Last week, Carmen Geiss shared this photo from the hospital of the Brothers of Mercy in Vienna. She is now feeling better again, as she revealed to RTL.

Last week, Carmen Geiss came forward with some worrying news: She had to be treated in a Viennese hospital for pancreatitis. She has now told RTL just how bad she actually was.

In a message to RTL, Carmen Geiss said that she was very happy about the "many wishes for recovery" and also thanked her fans for their kind messages via Instagram.

Diagnosis a shock
The TV celebrity is now back home in Monaco - our krone.tv presenter Tanja Pfaffeneder caught the Geissens on their return flight from Vienna to Nice at the end of the week. But the 59-year-old has not had an easy few days.

Geiss had to undergo treatment for pancreatitis at the Barmherzige Brüder hospital in Vienna, as she herself announced on Instagram. A shock diagnosis, as she now explained in her message.

Geiss could no longer "walk or talk"
She also revealed that she had previously been feeling increasingly unwell while filming in Austria. At first, she thought she had a "stomach and intestinal infection and it would go away". 

Because she had initially suffered from "diarrhea and vomiting", "but when everything was just as bad - or worse - the next day and I was no longer able to walk or talk, I thought to myself, okay, I'll go to the hospital," Carmen Geiss described how frighteningly bad she actually felt. 

On the road to recovery
She had to spend four days in hospital due to pancreatitis. The TV celebrity gave the all-clear that she was now feeling better.

Nevertheless, she still has to take antibiotics for a few more days and "stick to a diet - no alcohol, no nicotine and no stress, of course", says Geiss. Her symptoms should be "history in two or three weeks".
