Off to the island? Ex-PSG pro plans desert escape

Ex-PSG midfielder Marco Verratti has apparently had enough of the league in Qatar after a year. The Italian's advisor is said to have offered him to several Premier League clubs. Runners-up Arsenal are currently being touted as a possible buyer. 

Verratti only left his long-standing club Paris Saint-Germain in tears in September 2023. The Italian finally moved to Al-Arabi in Qatar for 45 million euros. However, the former European champion was not happy in the desert and is therefore probably planning a return to Europe.

As reported by "fichajes.net", the midfielder's advisor is said to be intensively marketing his protégé in the Premier League. According to the report, Verratti could imagine playing for Manchester United, Liverpool or Arsenal. The Gunners in particular could indeed become an option. 

Will he replace Thiago?
The Londoners are still looking for reinforcements in midfield. The future of Thomas Partey and Jorginho is still open. However, the transfer of European champion Mikel Merino is currently said to be a priority. Verratti would only be an option if an agreement cannot be reached with Real Sociedad. 

Verratti could fill the gap at Liverpool left by the end of Thiago's career.

Meanwhile, the Italian could replace Thiago at Liverpool, although concrete talks are said to have not yet taken place. Man United, on the other hand, are said to have already turned him down as they want to rejuvenate their midfield and the 31-year-old would not fit in with their current transfer policy.
