Not confident enough at school? How to support your child
For many parents, the start of school is accompanied by the fear that their children won't be able to keep up. This fear is usually unjustified, but there are various things you can do without putting unnecessary pressure on your child. Plus: What your child should already be able to do, how your child learns better - and what you are legally allowed to do.
Children are playfully prepared for school in kindergarten - they come into contact with their first numbers and letters, learn about quantities and shapes. In many cases, this happens in passing - and often without the parents really being aware of it. However, the closer they get to school, the more often they ask themselves how they can properly support their children without overtaxing them. This encouragement is also possible in everyday life.

In a support catalog published by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, parents are recommended exercises with their children for eight skill areas. These include letters and sounds, quantity and number knowledge, counting, but also perseverance and diligence at work, motivation, working memory, phonology and graphomotor skills. All of this together forms the basis for working at school. The details:
