Passenger peed on! Scandal surrounding ex-NFL professional

Gosder Cherilus now has to answer for his actions in court.

Former American football pro Gosder Cherilus has caused a real pee-pee scandal in the USA. The 40-year-old is said to have urinated on an elderly woman on an airplane. The plane eventually had to return to the airport of departure. 

The disgusting scene is said to have taken place on a Delta Airlines flight from Boston to Ireland. However, the passengers were never to arrive on the Emerald Isle. A former NFL professional was responsible for this.

Gosder Cherilus, who played for the Detroit Lions during his career, caused a scandal. "He suddenly walked up to an older woman and began emptying his entire bladder for about 20 seconds, ", an eyewitness is quoted as saying in the Massachusetts State Police report. 

Arrested and charged
According to the report, the former professional athlete was drunk and had already argued with other passengers about the seating arrangements before departure. After the disgusting incident, passengers and crew were in shock and feared further incidents. The plane was therefore diverted back to Boston.

At the airport, police officers asked Cherilus to get off the plane. However, the 40-year-old was angry and uncooperative. He was therefore eventually arrested and charged. After paying bail, the former NFL star has since been released. However, he will have to stand trial on October 11.

He pleaded not guilty at an initial hearing on Monday. The 40-year-old also made a statement on social media. In it, he explained his "inappropriate behavior" by taking sleeping pills, which he otherwise never uses.
